Our work is to educate people about the realities of alcohol, to challenge its acceptability as a relatively harmless drug, and to change the status of alcohol in society. We also desire to “recruit” as many people as possible to stand up for the Truth.
The ignorance surrounding alcohol is apparent everywhere, including those whose position it is to make laws and generally oversee that the alcohol industry is acting responsibly.
This ignorance is probably due to two things, the advertising power of alcohol companies, and the sheer apathy that exists in a country where it is considered normal to drink to excess.
Short of prohibition, only education can help redress the balance, by staunchly expounding the Truth about alcohol.
Our action plan includes producing literature, and taking our campaign “on the road”. We will continue to press government bodies on issues we feel are necessary, such as a ban on alcohol sponsorship of sport, and proper labelling on alcohol containers.
